Made from 90% lambswool and 10% cashmere, the Lilt Blanket measures 47 × 59 in / 120 × 150 cm. It feels lofted and substantial in the hand, yet folds compactly enough to keep in a drawer. Keep it across your lap or draw it over your shoulders through a long afternoon in a cold workspace, then carry it to the sofa afterward. Lambswool comes from a sheep’s first shearing, giving it a finer, springier hand than many standard wools.

Materials & Care

90% lambswool and 10% cashmere.
A premium blend — lambswool for structure and breathable warmth, a touch of cashmere for softness and refinement. Naturally insulating, gentle on skin, and made for transitional seasons.
A double-faced weave — both surfaces finished, so there is no right or wrong side. It reads the same folded back over itself as it does laid flat.

Care: Dry clean recommended. Skip the washing machine and the tumble dryer — wool firms up and shrinks a little in a warm, moving wash, and it does not relax back. Airing between uses is most of the upkeep; blot spills rather than rubbing, and avoid hanging for long periods to maintain shape. For pilling, spills, and storage, see our Care Guide.

Why this one

Softer and loftier than Hush. Where Hush is dense, pure wool, Lilt blends lambswool with 10% cashmere for more loft, more give, and a smoother feel against the skin.

Should I choose the Lilt or the Hush blanket?

Lilt if you want something with more loft and give; Hush if you want weight that stays put. Lilt is 90% lambswool with 10% cashmere and 557 g/m² of cloth; Hush is 100% wool at 577 g/m² with a shorter, closer pile. Both are 47 × 59 in / 120 × 150 cm, so this is a choice about how it feels in the hand, not about coverage.
How much softer is Lilt than Hush?

Softer than Hush, and you will notice it against a forearm or a neck. Ten per cent cashmere changes the surface, not the nature of the cloth — there is still 90% lambswool in there. If you already know that wool against bare skin does not work for you, this will not be the blanket that changes your mind; Veil's brushed camel-hair surface is the gentler one in the range.
Is the Lilt blanket big enough for the sofa and a cold desk?

47 × 59 in / 120 × 150 cm covers a lap and both knees, or goes round the shoulders while you are seated. It is woven double-faced, so there is no wrong side when it folds back over itself at a desk. It is a personal throw — full-length coverage depends on your height and how you sit.
Is the cashmere in the Lilt blanket real cashmere?

Yes — counted, not just claimed. Cashmere and sheep's wool have different surface scales under a microscope, and that is how the two are told apart: AATCC Test Method 20A, the American textile industry's standard for exactly this, run by a third-party laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. This cloth came back at 90/10. The measurement carries a tolerance of about three percentage points either way, which is why we label it 90/10 rather than quoting a decimal at you.
How do I clean a Lilt lambswool blanket?

Dry cleaning is recommended rather than required, which is a real distinction: airing between uses is the normal maintenance, and most owners send a throw out once a season at most. It is worth keeping out of the washing machine, though — wool firms up and shrinks a little in a warm, moving wash, and it does not relax back. Avoid hanging it for long stretches, which pulls the weave out of shape, and blot spills straight away rather than rubbing.
Will Lilt pill or shed, and how should I store it?

A little loose fibre in the first few weeks is normal and settles. After that, small pills can appear where the blanket rubs against clothing or upholstery — friction rather than a fault, and a comb lifts them without taking good fibre. For the summer, store it clean: moth larvae are after the oils and traces in worn wool more than the fibre itself. Somewhere it can breathe, and a look at it once or twice before autumn.
