Made from 90% lambswool and 10% cashmere, the Drift Cape measures 51 × 57 in / 130 × 145 cm — one open panel, no closures, nothing to size. Lambswool gives it structure and spring, making this the one to wear daily rather than save: over a coat on a cold platform, off again in a warm car, and back on when the evening turns. Its centered opening keeps the weight balanced across the shoulders, so it sits comfortably at a desk without constant readjustment. For a lighter feel and a softer drape, choose the Murmur Cape.

Materials & Care

90% lambswool and 10% cashmere.
A premium blend — lambswool for structure and breathable warmth, a touch of cashmere for softness and refinement. Naturally insulating, gentle on skin, and made for transitional seasons.
A double-faced weave — both surfaces finished, so it needs no lining and has no wrong side. However it falls open across the shoulders, the side that shows is the finished one.

Care: Dry clean recommended. Skip the washing machine and the tumble dryer — wool firms up and shrinks a little in a warm, moving wash, and it does not relax back. Airing between wears is most of the upkeep; blot spills rather than rubbing, and avoid hanging for long periods to maintain shape. For pilling, spills, and storage, see our Care Guide.

Cut as a garment, not a throw: an open front, no closures, nothing to size, and enough width to cover both shoulders and reach past the elbow. The lambswool-cashmere is double-faced with a quiet sheen, so whichever side faces outward is the finished side — and at 557 g/m², it is light enough to keep indoors, over a shirt at a desk rather than only over a coat. Made for all genders and body types.

Should I choose the Drift cape or the smaller Ember Cape?

Drift if you want a full panel over knitwear or a coat: 51 × 57 in / 130 × 145 cm laid flat, in 90% lambswool with 10% cashmere. Ember is 44 × 45.7 in, which is meaningfully less cloth — easier to manage seated at a desk, and the better choice on a smaller frame. Drift is the warmer and more dramatic of the two; Ember is the one you forget you are wearing.
Will the Drift cape stay on when I move?

It has no closures, so it moves when you do. The centred opening helps it sit across the shoulders rather than slide, and the double-faced cloth has enough weight to hang rather than float. Expect to resettle the front panels when you stand or reach — the way you would a scarf. If you want a layer that needs no attention at all, the Drape Vest has defined shoulders and stays where you put it.
Can I carry a bag or type while wearing the Drift cape?

Typing, yes — push the panels back off your hands and they stay clear, which is why this works at a desk. A shoulder bag goes under the cape, not over it. It is the wrong garment for carrying several things at once, and the honest test is whether your day involves your arms or mostly involves sitting in cold rooms.
Can I wear Drift over a tee, or is it an outdoor layer?

Over a tee is where it is best. The 90% lambswool and 10% cashmere blend is springy with a quiet sheen and enough substance to look deliberate over something slim. It layers over a coat too, but that is the less interesting use — most people who buy Drift wear it indoors, in offices that are colder than the people in them.
Is the cashmere in the Drift cape real cashmere?

Yes — counted, not just claimed. Under a microscope cashmere and sheep's wool have different surface scales, and that is how a third-party laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 separates them, using AATCC Test Method 20A, the American textile industry's standard for it. This cloth came back at 90/10. The method's tolerance is about three percentage points either way, so a decimal here would be false precision.
How do I keep the Drift cape looking good with regular wear?

Dry cleaning is recommended rather than required — airing between wears does most of it. It is worth keeping out of the washing machine, though: wool firms up and shrinks a little in a warm, moving wash, and it does not relax back. Fold it to store; hanging pulls the shoulder line out over months. Pills form where a bag strap or a collar rubs, which is ordinary, and a comb lifts them without taking fibre. Store it clean over the summer, since moth larvae want the oils in worn wool more than the wool.
What does Drift in Fog Lavender go with?
